With excellent support from our members, sponsors, exhibitors and many more, the BC Food Processors Association is happy to report that FoodProWest was yet again a great success! FoodProWest grew in 2011 to a two-day event - adding a Professional Development Day, followed by an evening Kick-Off Reception before moving into the Main event on the second day.. The event was well attended—it was humming for most of the day with all the networking and great learning taking place—and many compliments were received for the excellent speakers, the food and much more. Thank you all for your support!  

Congratulations to the recipients, and finalists, of our BC Food Processing Awards! Vanderpol Food Group received the BC Food Processors Hall of Fame Award at FoodProWest on Thursday June 9th, 2011. The Leadership Award went to Yves Potvin of Garden Protein International, and the Rising Star Award went to Vikram Vij of Vij’s Inspired Indian Cuisine, while Sunrise Soya was awarded the Sustainability Award. Two new awards were added this year – Bill Vanderkooi of Nutriva Group received the Innovation Award, and the Member of the Year Award was awarded to KPMG.
